Enjoy Your Day!

Happy McThursday! I am both happy and sad…tonight is Grey’s, but it’s also the season finale…wahhhhhh! Guess I’ll have to get my “fix” watching reruns, LOL!

I made this card for Julia’s WT challenge on SCS this week. Our challenge was to use small stamps! I got this “Very Punny” SAB set and never used the dang thing. I *love* these little fishys, and thought they would look so cute swimming on this Flair patterned paper.

I mounted the paper to a confetti white card base, then machine stitched all around to mimic the pattern of the waves on the paper. Then, I stamped the 3 fish in the lower right corner, added stickles to the waves and the fishy bubbles, and set it aside to dry.

  • I was able to easily omit the words on the stamp by using a black versamagic dew drop ink pad.

I stamped 3 more fish on whisper white cardstock, and colored them with markers. I used summer sun, more mustard, and pumpkin pie. Then, I just blended the colors a little using an aquapainter. I cut them out, then adhered them to the card on top of the stamped fish with dimensionals.

I embossed the Riveting sentiment with detail white EP on bashful blue cardstock. I thought it kinda looked like a life preserver and went well with the nautical theme of the card. I punched out the center, then the outer circle, and sponged the edges with bashful blue ink.

I wanted to tie the ribbon through the circle, but I couldn’t get it to lay the way I wanted it to, so I simply adhered a piece with fabri-tac glue, and trimmed the edges. I added the the outer circle of the sentiment on dimensionals, then added the back side of the inner circle. (I didn’t want that little present showing in the center). As the finishing touch, I added the little knotted “bow” to the center, and called it done.

Come on back tomorrow! It’s Friday, and you know what that means! Time for Friday Favorites! :D

See ya then!!

Paper: whisper white, confetti white,  bashful blue, flair patterned paper
