Friday Favorites!
TGIF!
I’d like to share some of my favorite inks with you today! I started using these VersaMagic Dew Drop chalk inks a few months ago. There’s so many reasons to love these little jewels!
- They come in gorgeous colors, pastels, earth tones, jewel tones, and neutrals (I believe 36 colors in all).
- The ink is opaque~similar to pigment ink, or colorbox fluid chalk ink.
- The ink dries quickly, and can be used on paper as well as transparencies and vellum.
- It’s acid free and archival
- It works great on clear stamps~clear and crisp with beautiful coverage.
- The teardrop shape of the pad makes it very easy to ink large or small areas of a stamp.
- Mine have remained very juicy, but you can buy reinkers for the pads if needed.
- The ink can also be purchased in full sized pads, which come in 41 colors.
Another ink I have fallen in love with is the Brilliance Dew Drops. It has similar qualities of the VersaMagic, - it’s a fast drying pigment ink that can be used on the same mediums I mentioned above. The little bonus on this ink, though, is that it has a pearlescent shimmer!! We all know how I feel about anything that shimmers, right?!
In addition to the traditional metallic colors seen above, they come in 24 delicious colors such as: chocolate, poppy, thyme, and crimson copper. There are 2 black shades that I adore as well: starlite black (black with a silver shimmer) and lightning black (black with a gold shimmer).
These inks are also available in full sized pads, as well as “trios” seen HERE.
I have purchased my Dew Drops at my local stamp store, however they are also widely available online. My local Michael’s store has just gotten the Dew Drops in stock, as well.
If you are looking for some fun new inks to play with, give these a try! I think you will be very pleased
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will edit this post with the answers!
I was just informed that Doodlie doo is doing a share for both Brilliance and VersaMagic dew drops!! WOW are these excellent prices! I have ordered from here before and got great service!
List of Q&A:
- I was wondering if you could tell me if the Versa Magic ones need a sealant to not smear? Thanks!!
- Hi Marie! no, you do not need to seal these inks. They dry beautifully!
2. On your “Enjoy Your Day” card, how did you omit the words with the black versamagic?
- Hi Pam! This is where the shape of the Dew Drop ink pad comes in handy. I just inked the fish (rubber side up) using the pointy tip of the ink pad, being careful not to ink the words.
3. I have also not found brights and would like to get some bright pinks and oranges…have you found those?
- Hi Eleanor! I don’t believe they make a bright orange and hot pink in the VersaMagic yet. Mango Madness and Pink Grapefruit are the brightest pink and orange I have. (and they are more like SU! apricot and coral).

I don’t even think you need to post a Friday favorites. I know that I scour your posts looking for the stamping “ingredients” so I too can use the same tools and hopefully make beautiful creations too!
I see that you found my new blog! Thanks so much for visiting. I swear Beate found in within 10 minutes (and I haven’t even officially told anyone yet). I don’t know how you cyber smart chickies do it, but I hope to be as savvy some day!

I’ve been thinking about getting some dew drops and was wondering if you could tell me if the Versa Magic ones need a sealant to not smear? Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve never tried any of these inks, but now I have too!
Ah-hemmm! Nothing like being an enabler, Trudee! lol
I’m glad you told others about these wonderful inks! I recently bought all the Dew Drops (yes, both VM and Brilliance, lol), and I love them! The colors are superb and they go on so smoothly. The shimmer in the Brilliance is perfect for highlighting the focal point of a card.
Not sure if you have used ColorBox Liquid Chalks, but I like them a lot, too. Similar to the VM, but different colors. They look lovely on card stock.
I always enjoy reading your blog!

I love these babies too! However I am a klutz when it comes to opening them…there is just enough of a ’seal’ that when I pull it open, inevitably one side or the other goes flying across the room…I kind of wish there were a latch to keep them closed , and they’d be easier to open!! I have also not found brights and would like to get some bright pinks and oranges…have you found those?
Thanks for the info on these T…I’ve been thinking about trying new inks!
This may be a silly question, but on your “Enjoy Your Day” card, how did you omit the words with the black versamagic? (Which is too cute, btw!)
I have just ordered some of the dew drops, due to all of the enabling going on. LOL! I am anxious to get them and try them out. Thanks for the tips!
