Welcome Back! Time well spent…

Published by trudee at 5:49 pm under Craft Organization, Just chattin'

Gosh it’s good to be back in blog land! :D Sorry for the unexpected down time. Splitcoast had a crash on Saturday, so not only did it affect their site, but our blogs as well! YIKES!

I used the down time wisely and did something that I have needed to do for MONTHS—I sorted my ribbon!! :D Here’s what it looked like before I began organizing:

UGH!! I cringe when I look at that, LOL! It was stored in overflowing Sterilite containers. Dozens upon dozens of little clear plastic bags, no sense of organization at all. Just strewn about in there, LOL! (I feel like I am at confession, LOL!!)

So, rewind to last week, I was surfing the net and saw that Joann’s had these Cropper Hopper 3×3 drawers and the 3×3 ribbon cards on sale. I thought that would be perfect for me! They arrived on Thursday, and I was really looking forward to getting organized. Here’s what I bought:ribbonstoragecropperhopper.jpg

I love how they stack together so neatly! The ribbon cards have a “grip-teeth design” across the center that holds ribbon securely in place. Then, I just used a straight pin to secure the other end after I was finished wrapping it. Here’s what it looks like now! :D

I am going to buy 3 more drawers, because I need to still do my blacks, browns, and white ribbons. The orange drawer also has yellows, as I don’t have a lot of those 2 colors. There’s still plenty of room in that drawer :)

Here’s what the drawers look like on the inside:

Hope you enjoyed checking out my new storage! I absolutely *love* it, now!! :D

I think it’s about time for another Trudee Treats giveaway, SOON, don’t you? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)

Ooh — your ribbons look so pretty! I used these drawers too–love them. I like how you put multiple ribbons on each one-I didn’t think of this ! :) Maybe when I build up my ribbon stash, I’ll do it your way. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah…what a sight for sore eyes! I’ve missed all my favorite blogs this weekend.

Your new ribbon storage looks fabulous! So neat and color coordinated and best yet…organized! I *heart* organization. Geesh…you would think that all the extra time I had this weekend not blog hopping I would have done something productive with my stamp area? Not!

Wow - you DID get a lot done. I finally had to break down & do the same thing a couple of months ago - couldn’t find ANYTHING! It sure feels good, doesn’t it?

Wow! Very slick and impressive looking, Miss Trudee! I think you and I were both working on our ribbon mess yesterday, probably at the same time! But my “after” doesn’t look much better than your “before” picture! LOL! Linda

I have two of these, and simply adore them, I have GOT to get more. I too have put more then one piece of ribbon on the cards, especially if there is 5 yards or less of each ribbon, works great and saves room!

  17. Libbyon 11 Jun 2007 at 11:46 am

Wow what an excellent way to store ribbon!! That was time very well spent indeed! :-)

I love the ribbon storage. I am a bit of a ribbon collector. I have lots of ribbon but hardly ever use it. But it looks so pretty hanging on the wall!!! :) Gail

What a great way to store ribbons that are not SU ribbons. Thanks for the inspiration Trudee.

I just recently redid my ribbon drawer and even your before is better than what I had going on…I am still not convinced my current method is working, so I may ck out those cropper hopper bins. Very cool!
