Welcome Back! Time well spent…
Gosh it’s good to be back in blog land!
Sorry for the unexpected down time. Splitcoast had a crash on Saturday, so not only did it affect their site, but our blogs as well! YIKES!
I used the down time wisely and did something that I have needed to do for MONTHS—I sorted my ribbon!!
Here’s what it looked like before I began organizing:
UGH!! I cringe when I look at that, LOL! It was stored in overflowing Sterilite containers. Dozens upon dozens of little clear plastic bags, no sense of organization at all. Just strewn about in there, LOL! (I feel like I am at confession, LOL!!)
So, rewind to last week, I was surfing the net and saw that Joann’s had these Cropper Hopper 3×3 drawers and the 3×3 ribbon cards on sale. I thought that would be perfect for me! They arrived on Thursday, and I was really looking forward to getting organized. Here’s what I bought:
I love how they stack together so neatly! The ribbon cards have a “grip-teeth design” across the center that holds ribbon securely in place. Then, I just used a straight pin to secure the other end after I was finished wrapping it. Here’s what it looks like now!
I am going to buy 3 more drawers, because I need to still do my blacks, browns, and white ribbons. The orange drawer also has yellows, as I don’t have a lot of those 2 colors. There’s still plenty of room in that drawer
Here’s what the drawers look like on the inside:
Hope you enjoyed checking out my new storage! I absolutely *love* it, now!!
I think it’s about time for another Trudee Treats giveaway, SOON, don’t you? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ![]()

WAHOO!!!! Looks AWESOME T!!!!!! LOVE seeing that baggie of stitched ribbon!
lol. Really that looks cool, I think I will have to get me a few of those!!!
OOoooooooo! Nice!!! (I need about four of those! lol.)
Ooh — your ribbons look so pretty! I used these drawers too–love them. I like how you put multiple ribbons on each one-I didn’t think of this !
Maybe when I build up my ribbon stash, I’ll do it your way. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah…what a sight for sore eyes! I’ve missed all my favorite blogs this weekend.
Your new ribbon storage looks fabulous! So neat and color coordinated and best yet…organized! I *heart* organization. Geesh…you would think that all the extra time I had this weekend not blog hopping I would have done something productive with my stamp area? Not!
Linda
I love your ribbon storage!! It look so neat and pretty! I need to follow your lead!
Oh my! I love that ribbon storage! I’ll have to be on the lookout for those!
Sooooo, when ya comin’ here?
What a great idea to sort them by color! I can’t imagine tackling my ribbon collection. I just bought nine more rolls yesterday. Yes, I’m an addict!
Trudee, I love your ribbon storage! Wow! great idea!
Great storage solution! I also did some organizing this weekend but my ribbon didn’t make it to being organized. I like this idea and might just have to copy it! I guess it is off to Joanns to check out these drawers! Thanks for sharing!! Love your blog and all of your ideas! Can’t wait for the Trudee treats!!!
Ellie
Welcome Back!!! You were missed! You did a marvelous job organized these by color! Wow…ya got a lot of ribbon there!!! Thanks for sharing your storage idea with us! Have a beautiful day!
That storage is fabulous! Thanks for the enabling!
Wow - you DID get a lot done. I finally had to break down & do the same thing a couple of months ago - couldn’t find ANYTHING! It sure feels good, doesn’t it?
Well, good for you.
Wow! Very slick and impressive looking, Miss Trudee! I think you and I were both working on our ribbon mess yesterday, probably at the same time! But my “after” doesn’t look much better than your “before” picture! LOL! Linda
I have two of these, and simply adore them, I have GOT to get more. I too have put more then one piece of ribbon on the cards, especially if there is 5 yards or less of each ribbon, works great and saves room!
Wow what an excellent way to store ribbon!! That was time very well spent indeed!
Wowsa I wish I was that organized - your before picture looks like my stash on a good day (which is not today)
I love those storage boxes, T, and have been meaning to get some. Glad they worked so well for you and congrats on getting it all organized! Are those your pretty new countertops?
Those ribbons look so pretty in their new homes. I love those storage containers.
I love the ribbon storage. I am a bit of a ribbon collector. I have lots of ribbon but hardly ever use it. But it looks so pretty hanging on the wall!!!
Gail
What a great way to store ribbons that are not SU ribbons. Thanks for the inspiration Trudee.
Wow - great use of the downtime! Orgainzed ribbon is so purty!!!! I did mine a couple of weeks ago. Does the organizing ever actually get finished?
I saw a link to this post over at Craft Critique today (www.craftcritique.com). Great information!! Keep up the good work!!
Woo-wee! Bless your heart for sharing this wonderful ribbon storage idea with us! I love the organization and see-through look of these storage containers. Thank you!

Gee, I didn’t think the before picture looked THAT bad — looks EXACTLY like my system — LOL!!! I do like your after photo — very organized — job well done!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I just recently redid my ribbon drawer and even your before is better than what I had going on…I am still not convinced my current method is working, so I may ck out those cropper hopper bins. Very cool!
OH wow I feel like I have died and gone to ribbon heaven. The next time you have down time please come to my house….Please. My ribbon doesn’t even look as nice as your before picture!:0 LOL
Love the way you stored your ribbon!! I couldn’t even begin to imagine how many of those I would need!! I swear I’m a ribbon addict!!!
Great job!
