Friday Favorites!

Published by trudee at 6:59 pm under Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! :D

Thank you all so very much for your posts about my PaperTrey contest win! I am still positively giddy about it! Thank you for sharing in my happiness :)

Today’s favorites are coming from my garden again. I have a few flowers in bloom that I just *love* and photographed on Monday. I wanted to share them with you. I hope you don’t mind?

These are some beautiful red Asiatic Lilies. They are so vibrant, I just adore them! I wish they lasted longer, but each bloom only lasts a few days, then another one will pop open.I guess they bloom for a couple weeks all total.

This one is my dwarf Reblooming Daylily. I positively adore Daylilies, especialy these dwarf rebloomers. They stay rather tidy (about 12-20 inches) and don’t get all wild and leggy like the regular Daylily. In addition, it blooms for a few months: June, July and the beginning of August! I have several different colors. This one is called “Pardon Me” and is a cranberry/wine color. I love the ruffled petals!

And here is one of my very favorite flowers…the Black-eyed Susan (Rudibeckia Goldsturm). Here is the very first bloom of the season. It was tucked down, way under the leaves, as if peeking out to say “Hello? Is it time for me yet?” :) These flowers are so easy to care for, and they bloom all summer long through September. I have them right next to my Echinacea (purple coneflower). When they are both in full bloom together, my heart sings! Oh how I love them…

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of some of my favorite flowers in bloom this week! I will be sharing more throughout the summer as they appear in the garden.

Come on back tomorrow…there just may be a little “Treat” for you to see! ;)

It’s so funyy that you mentioned your day lilies. I moved mine last year to a new spot and they were eaten up by rabbits! I was sooo mad! This is the first time they have EVER been eaten. My hostas too. I think it might be the rabbit my husband nick named lucky ( he has half an ear ).
Have you ever had trouble with this? Great pictures by the way.

I love the dwarf daylily - I may have to search some nurseries and plant some myself. Those ruffled petals remind me of some butterfly images on cards I’ve seen lately. Aren’t gardens theraputic? I like to go out early in the morning and putz around for an hour. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous flowers Trudee! I love that large Asiatic Lily! I used to have some beautiful pink ones in my garden, but the drought in Colorado has killed all but my hardiest plants.

Beautiful, beautiful beautiful!!! Not many flowers bloomin’ in our yard - except that chives bloomed recently when they grew out of control! LOL!

P.S. Love your blog, and hope it’s okay that I linked here from my blog. Let me know if that’s not cool! Thanks!

I never get tired of flower pictures. Our gardens continue to give me inspiration thru out the year. We also have many daylilies that are starting to bloom. They only last a day, but always other blooms to take their place. Happy gardening and stamping and …..TFS

Gorgeous flowers! I especially love the small ruffled day lilly. Need to find some of those to go with my leggy ones! Have you done a flower album yet? I keep thinking I will but haven’t. Enjoy this beautiful cool weather!

You’re inspiring me to get out there in the garden. No time today, though, darn it! My daylilies are still in bud. Can’t wait for the big day when they burst into bloom! Love your beautiful flowers!!!
