Paint Chip Inspired Fleurs
I made this card for Julia’s WT challenge today on SCS–ways to use ribbon! Me likey ribbon!!
I was in Lowe’s this weekend, and picked up several paint chips. Here’s the one that inspired this card:
I love these colors! Guava, Banana, Ruby Red and Apricot! Hmmm that makes me hungry, LOL! It’s a bit hard to tell the difference in the photo, but the card base is banana and it’s stamped with the aida cloth bg in apricot ink. The punched flowers are apricot and ruby, and the sponging around the edge of the scallop is banana.
The guava panel and the scallop focal image are both raised up on popup glue dots, and the May Arts ribbon (from Jacksonbelle) ties the two layers together, giving the illusion that it’s holding that scallop panel in place.
The final touch is some Stickles on the watercolored Jolies Fleurs image. I mean, honestly, ya can’t have a card without a little sparkle, can ya?
Hope you all had a great 4th! The fireworks here were spectacular!!

What a gorgeous card! And to think I’ve been in Lowes 4 times in the last 4 days and I got nothing for my trouble except lumber and bricks.

What a great card! And what a good way to use the paint chip! I would have just stamped on it! Hmmmm…I’ll be looking at paint chips differently now.
I’m always using single paint chips for my cards, but never thought of the combination ones for inspiration. Excellent idea!
The colors are absolutely stunning. Love this card!

Soooooo pretty! I love the inset scallop with that delicate and feminine stamping and, of course, the ribbon! Another wonderful creation, Trudee!
Oh my gosh how funny. My husband calls me the paint chip queen. I have them in my wallet, on the coffee table, in the jockey box….The guy at the hardware store sees me coming and he just laughs.. You gotta love a good paint chip! The card you made was beautiful and so inspiring. I’ll have to pull out some of my paint chips and get busy!
This is uber gorgeous Trudee! I just love all that beautiful selective sparkle on that stamped image. Love your layout too and those yummy colors!
