Unique as a Seashell
Here’s another Lizzie design I made this weekend! I just love this scallop shell from the Shore Thoughts set!
The shell was stamped in Versamark, then clear embossed on watercolor paper. I watercolored it with caramel, pretty in pink, blush, and soft sky, for an embossed resist design. I distressed the edges and curled the corners, then added some stickles and set it aside.
Using the same colors from the shell for the card, I stamped the swirly line image across the top third of the caramel card base. Then, I added two scalloped edge layers. I created the edges with my EKSuccess scalloped corner rounder~taking the corner guard off. See how it echoes the scallop shell?
They are sponged with blush and pink ink.
The sentiment is stamped in Ancient Page coal ink. I think it may have looked better in chocolate, but I wasn’t going to re-do it
To finish the card, I sponged the caramel card base, tied some narrow twill at the seam, and added the focal image on pop-up glue dots. Simple. right?
A few reminders for you:
- Be sure to check out Lindsey’s contest HERE! She has some awesome prizes!!
- Tricia over at Lizzie Anne Designs is having a giveaway on her blog for a free stamp set! Check it out HERE!
- GinaK has announced the “Stamps for a Cause” design team HERE. Yep, that’s me on the list!
This is such a worthy cause, that I couldn’t possibly say no. It’s a charity that I support, and I think it’s great that Gina will be donating $7 per set to this cause! Stay tuned to her blog, Splitcoast, and our blogs for some fun ideas with this newest set!
Have a great day today! ![]()

This is absolutely gorgeous Trudee! I have no need for a seashell set (living in Colorado) but you are so making me want this set (both you and Julia…darn you girls). I checked out Gina K’s blog…if her stamp for a cause set is for the charity I’m thinking of, I’ll definately be purchasing a set. My husband and I have both volunteered extensively for this charity in the past and it is one that we believe in with all our hearts.
