Copic Butterfly
I made 4 of these today for a swap at our monthly stampin’ meeting. Now that several of us are no longer SU! demos, we decided to open up our swaps to use any company’s stamps, paper, embellishments, etc. Since I needed to work on some Lizzie designs, I chose this butterfly from the Au Naturale set. This is such a gorgeous set, and the sentiments are really lovely, too. You’ll be seeing more of this set from me!
I cut and embossed the focal image panel with a basic square from my Spellbinders Nestabilities dies. I ran the new SU! “Le Jardin” paper through the Wizard using a scalloped square die, then I embossed it. I removed the die, then flipped over the embossed scalloped square to reveal the printing on the reverse side of the paper. Brads were added to the corners, then adhered on to the saffron card base.
The butterfly was colored with the following Copic markers:
After coloring and shading the butterfly, I used the Copic airbrush system and the Y21 Sketch marker to lightly spray some color around the edges of the embossed square. I absolutely love the soft mist of color from the airbrush system!
I added the flight trail by using the piercing portion of the SU! Priceless brass template, added stickles to the butterfly, then added the sentiment on a piece of soft sky cardstock punched with the word window punch. A bit of gold cord finishes off the card.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend! ![]()

Great card, I’m wondering if the scallop dies would work in a standard Sizzix machine. I love how they cut and emboss!
