Harvest Angel
This gorgeous angel is the August Stamp of the Month from Lockhart. Hop on over to Ellen’s HERE and check it out!
I pulled colors from this Daisy D’s plaid paper for my angel, and colored her with my Copic markers. I stamped her with Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink on naturals ivory, then cut and embossed her with my Wizard and oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die. I gave the edges of the oval a light mist of color with my Copic airbrush system. The oval was then matted with an embossed scalloped cranberry oval sponged with cranberry ink.
I tore the bottom off of the plaid panel, then sponged the white core with Ranger antique linen distress ink. I used the reverse side (plum color) of the plaid paper for the bottom section. I embossed the PaperTrey sentiment with gold EP, and added a row of piercing across the bottom edge. To help tie in the gold, I added some gold cross stitches on the upper corners.
A length of yummy velvet ribbon (from SU! Theater collection) was added across the middle, and the focal image was placed on top with dimensionals. I adhered all of this to a cranberry card base. I felt like it still needed a little something, so I colored a clear Hero Arts rhinestone with my Copic marker, and added it to the candle for some bling. To add some interest to the sentiment, I adhered this darling “Itty Bitty” acorn from Lockhart, which was also colored with my Copics. It’s adhered with mini glue dots, which were folded a couple times to make it dimensional.
I am thinking of my friend Kate and her husband today. They said goodbye to their beloved Cocker Spaniel, Katie, this week.
It is so hard to say goodbye to our beloved furry kids. Kate, if you are reading this, I am sending you a big hug!!! {{{{Kate & Tommy}}}}

Oh how warm and homey! Perfect for harvest! Love that stamp and your little faux stitches!
Beautiful card! Since Autumn is my favorite season, I have ordered this stamp already from Ellen Hutson. Can’t wait for its arrival! I have also ordered the oval scalloped nestability. I just ordered the one for now to see if I’m going to like it. Again, can’t wait to get it in my hot hands!
Another beautiful card Trudee. Your coloring just blows me away. Great autumn card indeed
I saw Ellen introduce this stamp of the month.
I love the colors you used with it!
Your coloring is so beautiful, T! Love how you paired the angel with plaid. I like the piercing and stitches too!
Totally love this. I’ve been thinking about getting that stamp.
This is gorgeous! I love the rich colors!
This is so beautiful. I love the coloring- you truly have a special artistic gift with that technique and the rich Autumn colors are so elegant! I was trying to be good and not purchase that angel but you are certainly making it difficult!
Such a beautiful card, Trudee. I bought this angel too but would never have thought to use these colors. This makes me think of flannel shirts, apple picking, and a crackling fire.
I was catching up on your blog and saw your mention of your counter; when I glanced at it, it said 100001! I guess I just missed being #100000! Congrats on reaching such a milestone; I must say, I’m not surprised! Your blog is fun and your work just keeps getting better and better!
This has such a folk art feel to it. I love it! Love the itty bitty acorn, too. Incredible coloring, as always.
This is so beautiful Trudee! I love the rustic feel that the patterned paper brings to this elegant angel image. Great design as always!
