Welcome Autumn!

Published by trudee at 9:59 pm under Card Designs, Copic, Lockhart Stamp Co, Spellbinders

Happy Autumn!! :D I think Mother Nature forgot to flip the switch today, as it was about 85 degrees here, LOL! No worries, though. It was absolutely divine! blissI have a couple Autumn cards to share with you tonight.

Give Thanks

Both cards are fairly simple designs keeping the focus on these awesome Lockhart stamps! This one features Indian Corn for the focal image, with the sentiment from SU! Fancy Flex. Phrases. I stamped the Indian Corn on Papertrey white using Brilliance coffee bean ink. I cut and embossed it with my oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die, and kept the die in place to use my Copic airbrush system around the corn for a warm glow. I colored the image with my Copic markers in the following colors (these were used for both cards):

Then I added some shimmer with my Copic Spica clear glitter pen. Here’s the closeup:

I mounted it to a choc chip Spellbinders scalloped oval, punched a couple holes with my paper piercer, and added some frayed linen thread to accent the corn husks. The card base is a Memory Box vanilla bean notecard, and I added some DaisyD’s patterned paper from the new Autumn line, and also the Gypsy Harvest line.

Pumpkin Wheelbarrow

I love this Pumpkins in Wheelbarrow image! It’s stamped on Papertrey white cardstock with Brilliance graphite black ink, then cut and embossed with my oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die. Keeping the die in place, I used my Copic airbrush system to add some warm yellows and beige (for the ground). I used a darker mustard color around the outer edge and allowed it to splatter a bit. (I did the same on the Indian Corn image as well). I think it gives it a cool texture.

I colored it with my Copic markers, and added some shimmer with my clear Copic Spica glitter pen. I was looking for a sentiment, and found this teeny little Basic Grey rub-on. I like how the flourishes coordinate with the vines of the pumpkins. Here’s the closeup:

The patterned paper used is from my LSS. The plaid is from BoBunny, and the only thing I could find on the back of this fall print says “MMI”. I can’t find anything online, but I will keep trying. The papers are adhered to a pumpkin pie card base, machine stitched with brown thread, and then embellished with 2 olive word window tabs and copper brads. The focal image is up on dimensionals.

I hope these cards generate some Autumn spirit for you! Thanks for stopping by bye

I love how you put that frosty sparkle on so much (all?) of your work! Gosh, the Indian Corn looks like it was cut out and put on with dimensionals, it has so much depth. The airbrush system gave it a beautiful glow. Oh and, BTW, these cards generated some Autumn spirit for me. I’ve got some new papers but, believe it or not, no new Autumn stamps. Guess I’ll just make do!

Your cards are fantastic, and I’d LOVE to have some Autumn spirit, but it’s 87 here today and the same expected for tomorrow! We had to put the air back on today! Anyway, your coloring is wonderful and so are the designer papers. And that indian corn looks positively 3D. Linda

Beautiful cards! You’ve also, jogged my memory to purchase the Indian corn stamp! We will be celebrating my mother’s (whose last name is Corn) 60th birthday with a surprise “Corn Roast” in Brevard, NC where she lives. I want this stamp to make the invitations! Thanks for the timely enabling!
