Gardener’s Frame

I made this frame awhile ago and thought I’d share it with you, since many of you mentioned that you liked to alter frames! It was fun to make!

The Best Dirt…

cosmosbleyedsusansframe.jpg

Not a whole lot to explain on this! I traced around the frame (inside and out) with a pencil on the back side of the KI Memories paper, trimmed it, then adhered to the frame with ModPodge. I used my awesome Precision File kit from Basic Grey to tidy up the paper edges around the frame.

My Lockhart Garden Clogs and matching sentiment were stamped in Ranger Pitch Black ink on PaperTrey white cardstock, then colored with my Copic Markers. I cut and embossed the oval with my Spellbinders Nestabilities die, then airbrushed some warm yellow with my Copic airbrush system. I matted it with a scalloped pixie pink panel, and adhered it to the frame on pop-up glue dots.

To finish it off, I tied some matching Michael’s ribbon on the right side, inserted the glass, and added the picture of my Cosmos flowers from this summer. :D

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by! HUGS, my friends!!!!!

Rudolph & Figgy

Here’s another Lizzie Anne Designs card with the “Joy to the World” set! I paired up Rudolph with my yummy Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper…mmmmmmmmmm :D

Deck the Halls

figgydeckthehallspocketopen.jpg

This is just a standard pocket card, with sahara sand as the card base. I adhered the different patterned paper to the pouch, and machine stitched the front panel on 3 sides, then folded down the flap, and machine stitched across the top.

Rudolph is stamped on the solid color paper from this pack, colored with my Copic markers, and mounted on the red paper from the pack. The snowflakes were stamped in soft sky ink, and a red bling was adhered to his nose. I machine stitched this panel, adhered it to the front of the pocket, and added the pewter WeRMK photo anchor.

The inside card was inked with sahara sand, and a strip of the polka dot paper was adhered. Then, I punched a rounded tab from the same paper as the pocket front, and added 3 WeRMK brads. Black ink used is Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black.

Here’s what it looks like closed:

Enjoy

Hello!!! I wanted to share this little set with you, using the Lockhart Itty Bitty Hot Chocolate and “enjoy” stamps. It also uses my favorite Webster’s Pages paper designed by Terri Conrad! :D

Enjoy & Welcome

coffeeneighborwelcome.jpg

This is a simple little gift to a new neighbor, but could easily be modified for anyone! How about a teacher, soccer coach, or UPS delivery person? Change the “Welcome” to “Thanks” or “For You” and there you go! :D

This is a can of General Food International coffee. I measured the width of the can, and adhered a strip of Webster’s Pages Dahlia paper with sticky strip. The can actually needs a smidge more than 12 inches, so the back has an extra strip of paper to cover the 2 seams. (Try to cut that strip so that it matches the pattern in the paper.)

I cut a rectangle of the same paper, rounded the corners, and placed it under the lid to cover the foil. Here’s a closeup of that:

coffeeneighborwelcomecloseup.jpg

I wrapped the coffee tin with this gorgeous May Arts ribbon, and made this little “Enjoy” tag with my oval Spellbinders Nestabilities dies. This image is supposed to be hot chocolate, but I think it can easily pass for a cappuccino, don’t you? :D I colored it with my Copic markers, sponged the edge with a little apricot ink, and added a silver eyelet. Then I attached it with some silver cord. The scalloped layer is True Thyme.

The card is just a simple 4 1/4″ square true thyme cardbase with the same Webster’s paper, and a band of thyme that was stamped with Karen Foster snap stamps, and heat embossed with vanilla embossing powder. The chipboard “W” is self adhesive from Heidi Grace, and the brads are Bazzill.

I hope you enjoyed this little gift set, and I inspired you to make a little gift for someone you know! If you do, post a link in your comment so I can come and see it! :D

Friday Favorites!

Today’s favorite is a fairly new toy for me. I’ve been using it about a month or so, but man am I in love! It’s called Eclipse Tape, by Judikins, and you can get it in Ellen’s store HERE.

eclipse-tape.jpg

(photo courtesy of Ellen Hutson, LLC)

Do you use Post-it notes when you do masking? Well no need anymore! This fabulous tape is slightly sticky all over, and is thin enough so that it works seamlessly! (it’s much thinner than a post-it or printer paper) The roll is 6 inches wide, and 33 feet long. Plenty to do hundreds of masks! It works with any type of ink, paint, Copic airbrush system, pastels, markers, etc. and is so easy to cut with either paper snips, or a craft knife. (You can tear it, too for a cool effect) It can also be used for stenciling, or creating your own repositionable stickers!

You can also re-use your mask several times, as it stays slightly sticky for a long time. After I have cut my mask and use it, I simply stick it right on top of the image on my wood block. :)

Snow Family

snowfamilyfiggytag.jpg

snowfamilyfiggytagopen.jpg

This is a small To/From pocket tag that can be added to any gift! Take a piece of cardstock 3 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long, and score at 2 1/2. Round all 4 corners and decorate as desired with patterned paper. The inside tag is 2 3/4 inches by 2 inches. I machine stitched my pocket together, but you could also use a very thin bead of MonoMulti. If you use sticky strip, you might need to make the tag narrower than 2 inches to fit in the pocket. (if you use the really skinny sticky strip, you will be fine, though). The patterned paper strip on the tag is 1 inch wide. My pocket is cool caribbean, and the tag is cryogen white (sponged with olive).

Patterned paper is Basic Grey Figgy Pudding 6×6 pad, The Flurry family of 3, and Copic markers used (for both projects) are:

Pumpkins for Sale…

maskedpileofpumpkins.jpg

Here’s a sweet little 4 1/4″ square card using my Spellbinders Nestabilities rectangles, and the Lockhart Itty Bitty pumpkin, masked several times to make that pile of pumpkins for sale! :D They are colored with my Copics, and then highlighted with an orange Copic Spica glitter pen.

Patterned paper is Basic Grey Mellow 6×6 pad. White taffeta SU! ribbon is custom colored with my Copic marker. Cardbase is pumpkin pie, scalloped panel is olive, focal image is cryogen white.

Thanks for checking out my Friday Favorite today! Have a great weekend!!

Webster’s and Lizzie

I needed to finish up my design work for Lizzie Anne this month, and thought these “Joy to the World” images worked so well with my beloved Webster’s Pages paper! I used Terri Conrad’s NEW Holiday “Ting-A-Ling” line of papers. These patterns have a gorgeous vintage feel, yet they are fresh and updated. Aren’t these papers divine?? sigh

Joy to the World

webstersjoyangelframe.jpg

I machine stitched the Webster’s (I am Merry) paper (sponged with olive ink) to a soft sky 4 1/4″ card base. Then, I created my “frame”. I cut and embossed the scalloped square (Starbright paper) with my Spellbinders Nestabilities die, then used a smaller basic square die, and cut out the center. I adhered this to the cardfront, and secured silver brads in each corner.

For the focal angel image, I stamped her in olive ink, and the sentiment in ruby red ink. I cut and embossed this panel (poison ivory shimmery cardstock) with a slightly smaller square Spellbinders die, then sponged the edges first with soft sky ink, then olive. The angel is colored with SU! chalk pastels and a cotton swab.

To finish off this design, I tied some silver narrow organdy across the center, quickly heat it with my heat gun to lightly distress it, then added the focal image on dimensionals.

Sleigh Bells Ring

webstersbellslong.jpg

I was so tickled when I saw these words printed on this Webster’s paper!! Bells!! I have a bells stamp!! **insert Trudee doing the happy dance here** :D

The bells and holly were stamped on cryogen white cardstock and colored with my Copic markers. I cut and embossed the circle with my Nestabilities die, and airbrushed a hint of pink with my Copic airbrush system around the image. I die cut the scalloped mat out of the same cardstock, then colored it with that same pink marker, as I didn’t have the right shade of pink cardstock. I added the silver eyelet and silver ribbon and set it aside.

The Papertrey white cardbase fits in the SU! 5-in-1 envelope (6″ x 3 3/4″). I adhered a strip of the Webster’s Ribbon Candy paper to a piece of Sleigh Belle paper (that was stamped with the snowflake from this Lizzie set in soft sky ink). I adhered this panel to the cardbase, and machine stitched it with pink thread. To finish it off, I added the focal image on dimensionals, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

I am stunned at the amount of comments y’all have left in just one day on my Trudee Treats giveaway!! holy cow Thank you all so much for your kind words. I also really appreciate you sharing your favorite non-card projects with me. If you haven’t left a comment be sure to scroll down and leave one! I will be randomly drawing a name on Sunday night!

Bats!

OK, are these bats not the cutest? LOL! I mean how can you resist these smilin’ little critters!!! They are Rubber Soul’s “Happy Bat”.

Batty Halloween

batsstarsmoon.jpg

I wanted to play with my new Making Memories Halloween schtuff, so I pulled out the paper pack and the epoxy buttons. I adhered the 2 different patterns to a Memory Box licorice notecard. At the seam, I adhered a strip of velvet May Arts rickrack with some Fabri-Tac.

I stamped 3 happy bats with Ancient Page coal black ink on cryogen white shimmery cardstock, and cut them out with my papersnips. I added some yellow sparkle to their eyes with a Copic Spica glitter pen. I adhered 3 of the epoxy stars to the card base, then layered the bats on top with dimensionals. To finish it off, I tied some Halloween May Arts gingham through the moon and star button, and popped it up on dimensionals.

  • TIP: Are you not “into” Halloween? Use this card as a springboard for another design! How about making it a winter Christmas card, using blue and white patterned paper? Instead of bats, use snowflakes!

Thanks for all of your kind comments about my banner! I am glad that you do like it. One of you said it was “warm and welcoming”. That makes me very happy, as that is what I was trying to achieve. :)

Hop on over to Michele’s blog today! Trust me, it’s good!!  …And you’ll want to be back here tomorrow, too!!! :D

Make today a great day!! Hugs!!
