Webster’s and Lizzie
I needed to finish up my design work for Lizzie Anne this month, and thought these “Joy to the World” images worked so well with my beloved Webster’s Pages paper! I used Terri Conrad’s NEW Holiday “Ting-A-Ling” line of papers. These patterns have a gorgeous vintage feel, yet they are fresh and updated. Aren’t these papers divine?? ![]()
Joy to the World
I machine stitched the Webster’s (I am Merry) paper (sponged with olive ink) to a soft sky 4 1/4″ card base. Then, I created my “frame”. I cut and embossed the scalloped square (Starbright paper) with my Spellbinders Nestabilities die, then used a smaller basic square die, and cut out the center. I adhered this to the cardfront, and secured silver brads in each corner.
For the focal angel image, I stamped her in olive ink, and the sentiment in ruby red ink. I cut and embossed this panel (poison ivory shimmery cardstock) with a slightly smaller square Spellbinders die, then sponged the edges first with soft sky ink, then olive. The angel is colored with SU! chalk pastels and a cotton swab.
To finish off this design, I tied some silver narrow organdy across the center, quickly heat it with my heat gun to lightly distress it, then added the focal image on dimensionals.
Sleigh Bells Ring
I was so tickled when I saw these words printed on this Webster’s paper!! Bells!! I have a bells stamp!! **insert Trudee doing the happy dance here**
The bells and holly were stamped on cryogen white cardstock and colored with my Copic markers. I cut and embossed the circle with my Nestabilities die, and airbrushed a hint of pink with my Copic airbrush system around the image. I die cut the scalloped mat out of the same cardstock, then colored it with that same pink marker, as I didn’t have the right shade of pink cardstock. I added the silver eyelet and silver ribbon and set it aside.
The Papertrey white cardbase fits in the SU! 5-in-1 envelope (6″ x 3 3/4″). I adhered a strip of the Webster’s Ribbon Candy paper to a piece of Sleigh Belle paper (that was stamped with the snowflake from this Lizzie set in soft sky ink). I adhered this panel to the cardbase, and machine stitched it with pink thread. To finish it off, I added the focal image on dimensionals, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.
I am stunned at the amount of comments y’all have left in just one day on my Trudee Treats giveaway!!
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I also really appreciate you sharing your favorite non-card projects with me. If you haven’t left a comment be sure to scroll down and leave one! I will be randomly drawing a name on Sunday night!
Terri Conrad has tagged me, and I am to share 7 random/weird things about me. Hmmmm…well alrighty, then! LOL! Here goes:
- I can talk like “The Chipmunks”. Ya know Alvin, Simon and Theodore? Yep, them.
- When it’s chilly outside, I like to sleep with the window cracked open and snuggle under my down comforter and flannel sheets. ahhhhhhhhhh…
- I like to watch QVC, and sometimes I TiVo my favorite shows. (Philosophy, Judith Ripka jewelry, Chaz Dean haircare, crafting shows) (Lisa Robertson is my favorite host…she cracks me UP, LOL!)
- My favorite sushi restaurant calls me to let me know when my favorite fish is in! (Toro tuna)
- I have very strong intuition. (I giggled when I saw this on Terri’s blog, too!)
- I was held up at gunpoint in a bank robbery.
- I own a pair of blue Eeyore flannel feet pajamas!
Now I am supposed to tag 7 other bloggers, but instead, if you would like to share 7 things about yourself on your blog, please consider yourself tagged, and share a link with me here! I’d love to read it! ![]()

Gorgeous cards! But then, I love every single thing you do!
Can you talk about the organdy ribbon, and how you hit it with the heat gun to distress it? I haven’t ever heard of that, and would love to know more about how that works. (If I wasn’t at my office right now I would have to go try it!)

I love the cards! You did such a wonderful job on them. Those spellbinders toys are amazing.
When I was in college in Wisconsin, I used to sleep with the window cracked in the winter too. My roommates HATED it!

Too funny, i.e. random things. I, too, am a QVC addict and, like you, record Philosophy and Chaz Dean (don’t you love WEN!). I also love Bare Essentials. When Lisa and Leslie (of BE) are on together, it is a riot!
I love your cards for today — just gorgeous!

Both of these cards are gorgeous but my favorite is “bells”! It might have a little to do with the color blue, since that’s my favorite color
but mostly it’s your creativity and artistry!
I was chuckling as I read your answers in the “tag” until I came to the one about being held up at gunpoint - oh my! That has got to be one of the scariest things to ever happen to you! I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been. Glad you are safe and sound
I love that you left us with an image to smile about - the footed flannel Eeyore PJs!!

Held up at gunpoint? That’s it? You’re going to leave us hanging? Can we have more details? By the way….AWESOME artwork…as usual…

Gorgeous cards, as always.
iIloved your 7 random things @ you. My family claims that toro tuna is THE best as well. I’m the only one in my family who doesn’t care for raw fishi (sashimi) so the sweetened egg and canned tuna mix are my favorites.
