Caroler’s Christmas

I worked on a few Christmas designs to share with you this week. This blogging thing is working out well for my Christmas card stash, LOL!

Caroler’s Christmas

I thought these carolers from Wordsworth’s Caroler’s collection would be perfect for the paper piecing technique! My friend Michele is a master at doing this, and she’s the inspiration behind it! Thanks, M!! :D Upon visiting Debbie’s blog, I saw that she has been doing a great job actually *using* her Figgy Pudding paper, so I grabbed mine and made 3 cards yesterday. Here’ the first!

The carolers were stamped three times. Once on Cryogen white, once on the striped pattern, and once on the dotted pattern. I colored all the faces, hair and scarves with my Copic markers, then began the piecing. I decided to have the boys wear the stripes. (since they are tall and skinny and can handle horizontal stripes, LOL!) I also used the stripes for the hats, too. I drew in a little bit of snow, rounded the top corners, and mounted it to the green Figgy solid paper. Both panels are very lightly sponged with some bravo burgundy ink. I added a bit of warm gray shadows, then added Stickles all around. (Frosted lace for the all of the “fur” trims, and Stardust for the snow.)

The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory…simple layout, with some grosgrain added, embossed white sentiment, and some of Ellen’s fabulous new Dew Drops!!

How many Christmas/Holiday cards do you have done? I still need quite a few more, but I am glad to know that I am making a big dent in the list! :D

Wishing you a Happy Veteran’s Day. Sincere thanks to those that currently serve and have served our country. Our freedom is because of your sacrifice! Thank you!

I have about 24 done! It’s only a dent too, but I so far have done the same design, but am trying to use up all my retired in-colors from last year. I may have to change up my designs a bit so I don’t get too bored with all the same, over and over. Love these carolers and how you’ve done them. I have the Wordsworth snowmen family, but have had a hard time figuring out what to do with them. Good reason to play tomorrow. :) thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

How cute!! I love those carolers!! Thanks for the comparison between Frosted Lace and Stardust Stickles. They really do look different! And I love those Dew Drops! (I feel a little shopping spree coming on!) And thanks for the mention! {{{T}}}
