Clean and Simple
Sometimes, I just feel like a clean design. Most of the time, I have an aversion to “wide open spaces”, though. I think it’s because I enjoy backgrounder stamps and patterned paper so much. This design is about as “clean” as they come. Hope you like it!
I’ve completed 4 designs today using this “In the Meadow” set from Lizzie Anne Designs. I absolutely adore this daisy image! It’s stamped on shimmery cryogen white cardstock, then colored with my Copics. I used B00 for the sky, Y17 and Y38 for the daisy center, YG17 for the stem, B21 for some highlights on the white petals, and W2 for shading. It’s matted with Prism black cardstock.
The “pennant” style sentiment adds a fun element to the design, by stapling it to the focal image with a single black making memories staple. I adhered this to the Prism sunflowers medium cardbase on foam dimensional tape.
I was going through several of my square making memories rhinestone brads, trying to decide on the “right” color. I had 4 choices: yellow, blue, green, and clear. I went back and forth with them for what seemed like an eternity! I finally settled on the pale green. I like how it ties in with the tiny bit of green in the flower stem.
I removed the prongs from the brads, and simply adhered the square jewels with mini glue dots. I didn’t want the prongs of the brads to show inside of the card. A final touch of Stickles on the flower petals complete the design.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ![]()

Love this card — and I am so into the square brads. I wanted to use some on my card yesterday, but didn’t own any. Guess I gotta go shopping, eh? :^)

Just beautiful! I have a hard time with “white space” even if it isn’t white, I feel like it needs to be filled with something. This card is perfect just as it is.

I think I’ll CASE it and change it up a bit for a CAS swap I am in. Thanks for the inspiration. It is a perfect layout.

I think that it is wonderful card. I really love the simple elegance of it. Kind of how I wish I could dress, very chic, very Audrey Hepburnish.

Love it. When I do this I think too plain, needs something. As I look at what you did I think it is beautiful! The textured cardstock looks great!

I love your card…sometimes I feel so much pressure to put LOTS of elements into a card; and I’m so intimidated by all the cards on SCS…but simple really CAN be beautiful! Thank you for showing me that, I truly need the validation!
Maybe some of my cards aren’t so bad after all!

I so admire clean, elegant designs such as this one. This is beautiful! I like to say “simple does NOT mean easy!”

Like your card. I’m like you in the fact that I tend to use a background stamp or DP instead of leaving the background blank. Of course the texture of the cardstock and the brads add a lot. Really like your choice of the green brads. They add that special element to the card. Linda

PLAIN AND SIMPLE AND BEAUTIFUL.
DID YOU ADHERE THE BACK OF THE BRADS SO THAT THEY WON’T MOVE? WHENEVER I USE SQUARE BRADS THEY MOVE ON ME AND CHANGE THE LOOK OF THE CARD, AND NOT ALWAYS IN A GOOD WAY.
