Cupcake and Peaches

Hi there! Happy Monday!! Why is it that the weekends *fly* by, and the weekdays go so slowly? LOL!

I created these cards yesterday using a couple of my favorite Lockhart images. I will edit in all the details later tonight, as I am running around this morning, preparing for my BIL to come for an overnight stay.

rosecupcakepurple.jpg

This one uses all 3 of Karen Lockhart’s Rose stamps: the cupcake, and two from the Millinery collection- rose embellishment, and rose ribbon. It was colored with my Copic markers, cut and and embossed with my Nestability scalloped circle, and adhered on foam dimensionals to the cardfront. The purple floral patterned paper is from Heidi Grace, and is shimmery, as well as glittered. Sentiment is a Basic Grey rub-on, and ribbon is from Michael’s. Cardbase is Prism majestic purple dark.

youre-a-peach.jpgMy next one is a small little card created with the largest tall rectangle Nestability die, and folded in half. I love this Lockhart lettuce bowl of peaches! It just screams summer to me, as does this refreshing double sided paper from Heidi Grace.

Image was colored with my Copics, and cut & embossed with a circle Nestability die. It’s mounted on dimensionals to the scalloped circle striped print, and embellished with Ranger glossy accents, and Stickles.

I hand wrote the sentiment, and added some piercing around it to draw your eye around the image. A couple Primas and some May Arts gingham complete the design!

Sit back & relax!

It seems like forever since I made a card! It’s been less than a week, but so much has happened that it seems like longer! Life continues to move at the speed of light, and I’m hanging on for the ride! LOL! I was drawn to this Lockhart beach chair image this morning, longing to plunk down with a cold, frosty beverage. Ahhhhhhh…..

beachchairblue.jpg

This CHF broad stripe backgrounder was perfect with this chair! It’s stamped in Adirondack stream ink, on a PaperTrey white card base. Focal image was colored with the following Copic markers:

beachchairbluecopics.jpg

After cutting and embossing the oval with my Spellbinders Nestability die, I airbrushed the sky and sand, and removed the die. I chose to position this oval at an angle, to add emphasis to the “leaning back” of the chair.

beachchairbluecloseup.jpg
I stamped the portion of the image with the bag a second time, colored it, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensional tape. Turquoise and cinnamon Stickles were added for a little bling! I found these St Martin Primas in my stash, that I got from Jacksonbelle probably a year ago? I like the tropical feel they add to the design. Speaking of Jacksonbelle, did you know that she has the newest line from Basic Grey?? It’s called Euphoria, and it’s GORGEOUS!! Go check it out!! :D

CHF backgrounder, Copic markers, airbrush system, Lockhart stamps, and Spellbinders can all be found in Ellen’s store.

Thanks for visiting today! I’s almost Friday!! WOO HOO!!!!

Home Sweet Home

Hello!!!

As you know, I picked up Lady Godiva yesterday, so I wanted to share some pics of her! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. I don’t want to do anything but drive her! LOL!! I finished taking these photos, and got in the car to put her back into the garage. All of a sudden I found myself zooming out of the driveway for a 5 minute trip on some twisty roads! LOL! This is going to be VERY addicting!!!! LOL!

Summer Days

Happy Thursday! 2 more sleeps and I will have Lady G! yay

I’m sure you’ve seen Ellen’s Stamp of the Month by now. Isn’t it fabulous? Karen continues to release some of the most darling images, and this one is no exception. I chose to go with an old fashioned Americana look to this card, pairing the stamped image with Cosmo Cricket’s Halfway Cafe line of papers.

summerdayshalfwaycafe.jpg
summerdayscloseup.jpg The card is pretty straightforward, so not a lot of “blah-blah” needed. ;) The image is stamped on cryogen white shimmer cardstock with Memento ink. I sponged the entire image with Ranger antique linen distress ink, and some vintage photo around the edges. Copics used were: R59, RV34, YR24, G85, BG75, E55, E57, E27, W3.

The Ornare piercing templates do a good job in adding to that Americana feel~like punched tin. The NEW Lockhart sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of the same paper, then cut and embossed with the Spellbinders double ended tag die. I simply snipped off one end for this card, sponged a bit around the edges, and carefully lined it up with the stripe on the card front.

To finish off the design, a tiny bit of pink, black, and burgundy Stickles were added to the image for a little bling. I hope you have a great day!! It’s so gorgeous here in Asheville today! :D

Lady G & Watermelon Thanks

Hey there, Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I sure did. I had brunch at the Biltmore yesterday, and got word that Lady Godiva is at the dealership, and is getting the accessories put on this week! WAHOO! Only 5 more sleeps and she will be MINE!

Here’s a few sneak peek pics the dealership sent me before the driving lamps are installed. Also the interior before they change out the steering wheel, shifter, and emergency brake to the tuscan beige leather. It’s so cool seeing her in real life! After creating her online, I was hoping everything would look good. I LOVE her and she will look even better after all of the changes. Click each photo to see full size!

OK back to card blogging… LOL! I am really loving the new Lockhart images, and had to use this darling Itty Bitty watermelon.

ibwatermelonthanks.jpg

My sewing machine went a little wonky with the stitches last night. Not sure why it skipped a couple? Oh well! I didn’t want to waste all the work I had done, so here it is, warts and all, LOL!

Copic colors used were: RV04, R14, YG03, YG17, W2. Prism cardstock in intense kiwi & black. Neenah solar white. Lime green Stickles on the watermelon rinds, and black Copic Spica glitter on the watermelon seeds.

  • Copics, Lockhart, Neenah, Memento black ink and CHF backgrounder all from Ellen’s store.
  • Prism cardstock from CHF.
  • Stickles and May Arts ribbon from Jacksonebelle Embellishments.
  • Doodlebug sugar coated black brads. Thank you charm from the bridal section of Michaels.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Lockhart Meets Wild Saffron

Hello, and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! It was sooooo hot here. Goodness, it is too early for this nonsense!

A couple weeks ago I went to my LSS and found this glorious K & Co Wild Saffron paper and accessories. OMG I fell in love! The colors are so rich and earthy~ so *me*. I decided to pair it up with 2 Lockhart images: the Checkered Butterfly and the Zinnias.

saffronbutterfly.jpg

I really like to add a vellum strip for the sentiment on my cards for a special look. The sentiment is a K & Co vellum sticker from one of their sentiment packs. I think it’s from the “Beyond Postmarks” collection. I got it at Michaels. The butterfly was stamped with Memento rich cocoa on Neenah classic cream cardstock and colored with the following Copic Markers: BG72, BG75, YR24, Y21, E09, E27.

saffronbutterflycloseup.jpg

I trimmed it out, then added it to an embossed scalloped circle panel (Prism sunflowers medium) created with my Spellbinders Nestability die. The bling is from Hero Arts, and the felt flower with bling is also from the Wild Saffron Collection. A bit of Stickles on the butterfly completes it.

My next design does not have a sentiment on the front, which allows me to use it for any occasion. I rarely do this, but sometimes it just works.

saffronzinnias.jpg

Copic Markers used for this image were: BG72, BG75, YG17, YG67, YR24, Y21, E34, E09, E27, E79, R89, W3. I used an embossed scalloped rectangle panel, (Prism sunflowers medium) sponged with a bit of Ranger vintage photo ink. Cardbase is Prism sunflowers dark. I added some yellow Stickles to the flower centers, and a bit of my all-time favorite brown swiss dot May Arts ribbon.

saffronzinniascloseup.jpg

Oh!! PS!! My MINI Cooper Clubman S will be arriving at the port of Charleston on the ship Caribbean Highway on Thursday of this week (the 12th!)!!!! fiestaMAN, I wish I lived closer so I could see them unload her! I want a picture of the ship~ is that crazy? LOL! It will take a few days for them to prepare her for me, so I am hoping that I will be able to get her Saturday the 21st. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Wishing you a fabulous week!
