Lockhart Meets Wild Saffron

Published by trudee at 8:54 am under Card Designs, Copic, Lockhart Stamp Co, Spellbinders

Hello, and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! It was sooooo hot here. Goodness, it is too early for this nonsense!

A couple weeks ago I went to my LSS and found this glorious K & Co Wild Saffron paper and accessories. OMG I fell in love! The colors are so rich and earthy~ so *me*. I decided to pair it up with 2 Lockhart images: the Checkered Butterfly and the Zinnias.

I really like to add a vellum strip for the sentiment on my cards for a special look. The sentiment is a K & Co vellum sticker from one of their sentiment packs. I think it’s from the “Beyond Postmarks” collection. I got it at Michaels. The butterfly was stamped with Memento rich cocoa on Neenah classic cream cardstock and colored with the following Copic Markers: BG72, BG75, YR24, Y21, E09, E27.

I trimmed it out, then added it to an embossed scalloped circle panel (Prism sunflowers medium) created with my Spellbinders Nestability die. The bling is from Hero Arts, and the felt flower with bling is also from the Wild Saffron Collection. A bit of Stickles on the butterfly completes it.

My next design does not have a sentiment on the front, which allows me to use it for any occasion. I rarely do this, but sometimes it just works.

Copic Markers used for this image were: BG72, BG75, YG17, YG67, YR24, Y21, E34, E09, E27, E79, R89, W3. I used an embossed scalloped rectangle panel, (Prism sunflowers medium) sponged with a bit of Ranger vintage photo ink. Cardbase is Prism sunflowers dark. I added some yellow Stickles to the flower centers, and a bit of my all-time favorite brown swiss dot May Arts ribbon.

Oh!! PS!! My MINI Cooper Clubman S will be arriving at the port of Charleston on the ship Caribbean Highway on Thursday of this week (the 12th!)!!!! fiestaMAN, I wish I lived closer so I could see them unload her! I want a picture of the ship~ is that crazy? LOL! It will take a few days for them to prepare her for me, so I am hoping that I will be able to get her Saturday the 21st. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Wishing you a fabulous week!

This is beautiful! Love the images you choose to go with this paper. I rarely/never purchase a lot of pre-made embellishments like the 3-D stickers but I had to have this entire line when it came out. I was kind of hanging on to it until fall but you’ve inspired me to go ahead and get it out! That’s such good news about your car. Keep us posted!

I know how you feel about your little Cooper. She needs someone there to welcome her home. It’s sort of like not being there when your child comes home. You’re there in spirit that’s for sure. Remember anticipation is half the fun - Nimmy

I especially love the butterfly card - that Wild Saffron paper is georgeous; and your coloring of the Lockhart butterfly is particularly awesome!

I wish I lived close to you, we would have to take a ‘road trip’ to Charleston to welcome your baby off that ship! Can’t you just see the expressions on peoples’ faces when they saw not one, but two crazy chicks snapping photos and waving - at a car? :D
