Well, Hi there!
Have you heard the news?! It’s true. I’m back! Sorta. HAHA!!
Well, let’s put it this way…*I* am most certainly back. My *muse*, however, might still be on vacation.
With that in mind, I beg you…be kind as she finds her way back to me, okay? YAY!!
A lot of things have happened in the past few months. The most major of those things being that I’ve been laid off from the bank. Don’t panic, it’s gonna be okay. I know that things happen in our lives for a reason. I dunno what the reason is yet, so I’m just walking on this path for awhile to see where it leads.
I spoke with Lindsey last week, and she invited me to join her team of fabulous designers! I’m very excited, and also a little nervous to get back up on this horse. I hope that you will welcome me back into your creative lives, and find inspiration here once again. So, with that, I present to you my debut design for Jacksonbelle Embellishments!
I really enjoyed working with this sketch. Having been out of the loop for so long, I was very thankful to have a layout provided to me! This design features patterned paper from October Afternoon (Fruit Stand & Patio Umbrella). I just love the fresh color palette on these papers! The cardbase is Intense Teal, by Prism.
As I was searching through my very neglected stamping supplies, I came across this Stampendous butterfly stamp. I thought it would work nicely with the floral pattern of the Fruit Stand paper. The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Cryogen White cardstock, and colored with Copic markers (BG11, BG13, BG09). I trimmed it out, and added Stardust Stickles to the flowers on the wings. Ahhhhhh…Stickles. Hello, you beautiful, sparkly bottle of happiness! Oh, how I’ve missed you…
The butterfly is mounted on dimensionals to the black, scalloped oval (Spellbinders). The “Hi” sentiment is a rub-on from Basic Grey, and the small flower bling in the center of the butterfly is by Hero Arts. A bit of wire for the butterfly antennae, and some May Arts ribbon complete the design.
Be sure to stop by the other DT gals’ blogs and see what they’ve done with this fun sketch!
If you’re uploading to SCS, it’s JBE063. Don’t forget…ALL Inkadinkado is on sale this week 25% off at Jacksonbelle!!!
Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you all again very soon.
I’ve missed you all!! *HUGS*

Welcome back! My stamping buddy & I had a stamping “slumber party” over the weekend and we actually talked about you!!! We were wondering whatever happened to you since you were one of the sites that we always visited. My DH has been laid off twice (once I wasn’t working, the next time I was), so I know what you are going through. Not fun, but you will come out on the other side. I almost hate to ask, but I will anyway…do you still have your beloved car???
Posted by: kathy | July 22nd, 2009 00:35
Oh happy day, Trudee is back in the saddle! I was thrilled to have a chance to talk to you at winter CHA and was hoping then that you were on your way back - I’m so sorry to hear how the months since then have treated you, but you do have a wonderful attitude about it.
In case it’s not obvious by the 40 comments you’ve received so far, you have been missed and are being welcomed back with wide open arms! And your card is wonderful! No missing mojo there! Take care of yourself!

Hi Trudee, welcome back. I have missed your postings and your beautiful work. I am sorry to hear that you have been laid off from work. You never know what opportunities are around the corner. Blessings to you. ~ Terri

Yeah, you’re back! I was so happy to see your email update in my Inbox this morning! You’ve been missed, and it would appear that your *muse* is alive and well. Your card is stunning! I remember a while back that one of your goals was to work full time in the paper crafting industry, so an unscheduled “sabbatical” from banking might just be the ticket to try that on and see how it fits. Wherever your next path takes you, you’ll always have an adoring audience here!
Posted by: Kiko | July 22nd, 2009 10:03
Oh Gosh! A rockstar on the Rockstars! How cool is that?!!!! I think you grabbed on to your muse by the tail feathers here and are hanging on with BOTH HANDS!!!! A spectacular comeback!!!!

Hi Trudee! Glad your back. Looking forward to more of your awesome inspirition. Great card.
Posted by: Sharon King | July 22nd, 2009 11:06
Hi Trudee! I’m so glad you’re back with us, although I wish it didn’t have anything to do with your employment situation. But I have faith because, as Lou Grant used to say to Mary, you’ve got spunk! And also talent and personality. I hope you’re still enjoying your Mini Cooper. My friend Karen recently got a Ruby Red Sky convertible, which she’s wanted ever since her first ride in Bill’s S2000. After stalking the dealerships for two years, she decided to just go for it. The grin on her face sitting in her new baby is almost as big as yours in that photo you posted. Meanwhile, your beautiful card looks to me like you haven’t skipped a creative beat! You will have a blast working with Lindsey, who is no fool and jumped at the opportunity to have you on her design team. Can’t wait to see what eye candy you have in store for me going forward. Yay! Linda
