More Ornaments

Here’s a couple more ornaments that I made today. This one is a simple glitter re-inker ornament. I added this darling little snowman face rub-on, then tied the white ribbon at the top. She’s simple, but I like her.

Edited to add: I have had a couple questions on this ornament. I’m sorry I didn’t explain more, I assumed everyone had seen these glitter ornaments on SCS last year. They are very easy. I bought my clear glass ornaments at Michael’s last yr on clearance. They sell them every year, and probably have them out now, I bet. First, squirt in a little re-inker (I used cool caribbean). Maybe about a teaspoon or 2? Put on a rubber glove, cover the hole with your finger, and swirl the color all around the inside of the ornament. After the inside is covered, turn the ornament upside down and dump out the re-inker. Save it if you are making more ornaments. Keep the ornament upside down for about 5 mins, letting it drain the color out. (I turn mine upside down and sit it in a glass to hold it. I also put a paper towel under it to catch the drips.) After it’s drained, blot the top with the paper towel, because there will be extra ink there. Next, dump in some glitter. I used Martha Stewart crystal glitter for mine. Cover the hole with your gloved finger again, and shake the glitter all around. Dump it out, and wallah, a pretty sparkly ornament! You can save this glitter, because now it will have the color of whatever re-inker you used! Ah, ha, I knew I remembered seeing a tutorial… AmyR has a tutorial HERE!

This next one is also very simple, using the same papers I used for the pine cone ornament. I found this idea on Splitcoast HERE. Thanks, Kim!! :D All you do, is cut strips of paper 6 inches long and a half an inch wide. Roll them up and put them inside the ornament. I also added some “buffalo snow” inside to make it a little more glittery:

Hope you are all having a nice holiday! :D

Pinecone Ornament

Apparently, I am almost a year late in making these pine cone ornaments, LOL! I never jumped on the bandwagon last November, because I really didn’t have any use for them. I did, however, love them when I saw them!

I was recently asked to make some ornaments for a Christmas tree that will be auctioned off for charity. The color theme for the tree is red and turquoise, thus the colors of this ornament :) I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, so I went to the Splitcoast “Trim a Tree” gallery. That’s where I found these pine cones. I found the link to Amanda Sewell’s blog HERE for a great tutorial. Thanks, Amanda!! :D

I need a little bit of practice on these, and I think if I make another one tonight, it should go faster. I used red snowflake paper from Frances Meyer, and yummy shimmery turquoise flower print paper from KI Memories. Naturally, I “needed” to add some glitter, so I added dots of red and turquoise Stickles to the tips of each point. :D

I’m off to make some more ornaments. See ya later!! And Happy Labor Day!!! waving
